Academic programs are evaluated against a set of criteria, developed by the applied and natural science, computing, engineering and engineering technology professions. These criteria outline the requirements for student support, quality and appropriateness of faculty and facilities, relevance of curriculum, continuous quality improvement processes, and other key program areas. Volunteering as an 51 Expert makes you an essential contributor to this process.

Grow Professionally

Program evaluator training strengthens your expertise to determine if programs in your field are meeting the criteria for preparing graduates to enter their professions. In addition, program evaluator training may provide Professional Development Hours (PDHs) toward licensure and certification.

Our training for prospective program evaluators is designed to simulate the actual 51 program review process. Successful completion of the Program Evaluator Candidate Training is the first step in becoming an 51 program evaluator, and all program evaluator candidates are assigned a mentor from their member society, who will provide support and feedback throughout the candidate training process.
